She did postdoctoral research in Edmonton, AB, Canada, at the University of Alberta (2001-2002). She holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (1993), a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the Institute of Mathematical and Computer Science in Usp of São Carlos (1984) and a degree in Computer Science also from the Institute of Mathematical and Computer Science in Usp of São Carlos (1978). She is currently an associate professor at the Federal University of São Carlos, in the Department of Computing. She is accredited in the Post-Graduation Program in Computer Science, at UFSCar. She was responsible for the coordination of research information at the UFSCar Research Pro-rectory Office from 2012 to 2015. She was coordinator of the Post-Graduation Program in Computer Science at UFSCar from 2005 to 2009 and vice-coordinator from 2003 to 2005 and 2009 to 2011. He has worked as a reviewer of relevant journals in her reserach area, such as Information Sciences, IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, Fuzzy Sets and Systems. She has experience in Computer Science, with emphasis on Artificial Intelligence, working mainly on the following topics: Fuzzy Logic, Machine Learning in Data Streams, Genetic Fuzzy Systems, Machine Learning, Data Clustering, Fuzzy Ontologies and Fuzzy Petri Nets .
