Suzana Ursi

I have a bachelor's in Biological Sciences from the University of São Paulo - USP (1998), a master's degree in Biological Sciences (Botany) from USP (2000) and a PhD in Biological Sciences (Botany) from USP (2005), having developed part of the work at the Universities of Stockholm and Uppsala (Sweden). Currently, I am the director of the USP Science and Technology Park - CienTec and a professor at the Department of Botany at IB-USP. I am an academic advisor in the two graduate programs: Science Teaching (USP) and Botany Program (IBUSP). I coordinate the research group "BotEd - Botany in Education: contextualized teaching and teacher training". My main lines of research are: (1) Teacher Training and Teaching Knowledge, focusing especially on botanical content taught in different contexts (initial and continuing education, in-person and distance learning); (2) Environmental Perception in terrestrial and marine environments and mitigation of Botanical awareness. I also work on the development and evaluation of teaching strategies aimed at Teaching Biology (especially Botany) and the scientific dissemination of such knowledge. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
