Érico Tosoni Costa holds a BSc in Biological Sciences from the University of São Paulo (USP, 2000), a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Institute of Chemistry at USP (2005), and a Postdoctoral degree in Molecular Biology and Cancer Genetics from the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research (ILPC) at AC Camargo Hospital (2006-2009). From 2009 to 2016, he served as an Assistant Researcher in the Molecular Biology and Genomics group at ILPC. In 2011, he was a visiting researcher at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He is currently a Senior Researcher at the Teaching and Research Institute of Sírio-Libanês Hospital (IEP-HSL), where he is part of the Molecular Oncology Center (MOC) and teaches Tumor Biology to graduate students. His recent research spans from basic studies on 3D cultures of tumor cells to the development of patient-derived organoids (PDOs) and pre-clinical screening using in vitro PDO models, with a focus on advancing the personalization of cancer treatment.
