Lucelene Martins is a Professor at the Institute of Geosciences of the University of São Paulo (IGc-USP), where she has been a faculty member since 2009 in the fields of Igneous Petrology and Mineralogy. She holds a BSc in Geology (1998), an MSc (2001), and a PhD (2005) in Geosciences from IGc-USP, with a research internship at Boston University (USA). Her research focuses on the petrogenesis of granites and migmatites, with an emphasis on in situ microanalytical techniques (electron microprobe and LA-ICP-MS) applied to the geochemical characterization of accessory minerals such as apatite, zircon, and monazite, with particular interest in processes of anatexis, partial melting, and crustal evolution. She also conducts studies on the identification and mineralogical characterization of meteorites. At the undergraduate level, she primarily teaches introductory geology courses for students from various programs, as well as classes on scientific methodology, academic reading, and scientific writing. At the graduate level, she offers courses focused on analytical techniques applied to the characterization of geological materials. She supervises undergraduate research and final projects, and serves on examination committees for bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees, as well as selection boards for technical and academic staff. She is an active member of several academic committees and, since 2022, has represented IGc-USP on the Inclusion and Belonging Council (CoIP) of the University of São Paulo.
