Birthplace: Brazil

Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP, 2002), a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (Zoology) from the same institution (UNESP, 2007), and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the field of Morphology of Recent Groups (20082010). She served as Adjunct Professor I at the Federal University of Piauí (UFPI) from 2010 to 2011, and since 2011 has been a faculty member in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), where she works in the Termitology Laboratory. She was Chair of the Undergraduate Studies Committee at the Diadema Campus. Her research interests include the natural history of Isoptera, microbial interactions between termites and fungi, the biosynthetic prospecting of these fungi and their potential bioproducts, as well as applied ecology with a focus on termite control. She coordinates the partnership between UNIFESP and the Imigrantes Ecological Park (PEI) for the PEI Biodiversity Inventory. She is also co-responsible for the project Installation of a Meliponary for Educational and Outreach Purposes, and coordinates the outreach project Invertebrates in Action, which is integrated into the curricular structure of Zoology courses.
