I graduated in Chemical Engineering at the Military Institute of Engineering (IME 1983), master's (1998) and doctorate (2002) in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of São Paulo. I am currently a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation. Exercised the function of Head of Research and Development at Embrapa Forestry (2012-2013). I conducted researches as Visitant Researcher at North Carolina State University (2008-2009) and at the University of Nottingham (2010). Develop research on nanotechnology applied to the forestry sector and on pretreatment of biomass for production of second-generation bio ethanol as well as new applications for the fast pyrolysis of wood products. I have experience in the area of Forest and Forestry Resources, on the following topics: nanotechnology, preservative wood treatment, physical chemistry of surface, polymer deposition, water repellence, non-destructive analysis method (chemometrics), preservative treatment, drying, dimensional stability.
