Fernando de Luiz Brito Vianna (Fernando L. B. Vianna, Fernando Vianna, "Fedola") holds a degree in Social Sciences from Universidade de São Paulo - USP (1997) and a master's degree in Social Anthropology from the same institution (2002). He developed research and published a book on the relationship of Xavante indigenous people with soccer. He worked at the NGO Instituto Socioambiental (ISA) in São Paulo as a research, writing and editing advisor. He also served as a public policy advisor focused on indigenous policy, at ISA in Brasília and in German cooperation (GTZ) with the Demonstrative Projects of Indigenous Peoples (PDPI/ Brazilian Ministry of the Environment), in Manaus and Brasília. As a freelancer, he carried out consulting and advisory services in the field of indigenism and published academic translations in the areas of anthropology and sociology. In 2013, he joined the Brazilian agency for indigenous affairs, Funai. Between 2019 and 2023, he served as a leader of an association of Funai employees, Indigenistas Associados (INA). He has experience in the area of Anthropology, with past emphases in indigenous ethnology (Xavante/ Jê peoples of Central Brazil), anthropology of sport, studies of interethnic contact and, remaining in the present, indigenous politics. In his professional career in the field of indigenism, he had contact with school education, health, sports, territorial and environmental management, social participation, environmental licensing and territorial recognition policies.
