Birthplace: Brazil

She is a Full Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Tissue Biology at the Institute of Biology, Unicamp. She has coordinated the Exercise Biochemistry Laboratory (LABEX), which is a pioneer in integrating research in sports science with the teaching of biochemistry and exercise physiology, combining foundational concepts with practical scientific applications. She has mentored many master's and doctoral students who are now contributing to research, teaching, and high-performance sports across the country in various disciplines. Additionally, she has trained over 1,000 specialists through 12 completed classes in the specialization course on Biochemistry, Physiology, Training, and Sports Nutrition. Her current focus includes adapting the teaching methodologies originally developed for in-person instruction to remote formats by creating virtual learning environments that support interactive and autonomous study. She is also dedicated to developing strategies to enhance and assess behavioral engagement in online activities, foster metacognition (the ability to understand one's own learning processes), and cultivate skills for actively interpreting and analyzing evidence.
