C. Morsello is an Associate Professor at the University of São Paulo's School of Arts, Sciences, and Humanities (EACH-USP), leading the Conservation and Development Partnerships Lab. In her role, she teaches undergraduate students pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management. Additionally, she supervises the master's and doctoral programs in Environmental Science at the Institute of Energy and Environment and the master's program in Complex Systems Modelling. Carla holds a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the University of São Paulo (USP, Brazil), a specialization in Protected Areas Management from the University of Bologna (Italy) and a master's and a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences from USP and the University of East Anglia (United Kingdom), respectively. Her research primarily centres around the confluence of biological conservation, climate change, and local development. She focuses on investigating the economic, psychological, and environmental drivers of the use, conservation, and restoration of natural resources by indigenous and small-scale rural communities inhabiting natural environments, particularly tropical forests. She serves as an associate editor for esteemed conservation journals such as "People and Nature," "Conservation Biology," and "Perspectives in Ecology and Conservation." Additionally, she actively participates as a peer reviewer for funding agencies and contributes to both international and national journals.
