Associate Professor, Department of Botany, Federal University of Paraná (UFPR). Graduation (USP). MSc and PhD in Botany (USP), FAPESP scholarship. Sandwich scholarship FAPESP - Royal Botanic Gardens (Kew, England). Post-doctoral internship at the Institute of Modelling and Plant Architecture (AMAP/CIRAD/CNRS), France, 2015/2016, area of plant biomechanics. Develops research projects in the areas: Plant biomechanics, highlighting studies on functional biology and diversification of growth forms, and applied to biomimetics; Plant anatomy, focusing on phenotypic variability, taxonomy and evolution; Effects of abiotic stresses on the anatomy of native and commercial species. Invited researcher with the AMAP Institute (CIRAD/CNRS - France) and the project GrowBot (H2020 FETPROACT - 824074). Coordinator of the project "Structural diversity of the stem in Cactaceae: evolution and bioinspired applications" (CNPq Call CNPq/MCTI/FNDCT No. 18/2021 - Band A).
