Graduation in Agronomy (1973) and Master in Economics and Rural Sociology from the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (Esalq/USP), Ph.D. in Applied Economics from the University Of Kentucky USA (1982), Full Professor at Esalq/USP. He was a researcher at Embrapa, CNPq, Fapesp and Professor at the undergraduate and graduate levels at the Department of Business, Economics and Sociology at Esalq/USP. He is currently a Senior Full Professor at Esalq/USP. He has experience in Economics and Administration, with an emphasis on Agricultural Futures Markets, working mainly on the following topics: agricultural futures markets, agricultural derivatives, agribusiness, agribusiness and organization of agribusiness markets, production costs, technical and economic efficiency in agribusiness.
