Rogério Vicente Ferreira

Bachelor's Degree in Language Studies with a specialization in Linguistics, from the University of São Paulo (1994). Master's Degree in Linguistics from the State University of Campinas (2001). Doctorate in Linguistics from the State University of Campinas (2005). Postdoctoral studies at the University of São Paulo (2013) and the State University of Campinas (2016). From 1995 to 1998, I worked as a researcher and scholarship holder at the Emílio Goeldi Museum in Pará and at IRD/Cayenne (French Guiana), with the support of the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD).I have been active as a university lecturer since 2006 in the Language Studies programs at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS). From 2014 to 2021, I served as a professor in the Intercultural Indigenous Education Program "Peoples of the Pantanal" at the UFMS/Aquidauana Campus. Since 2022, I have been a lecturer at the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT), achieving the position of Full Professor in 2023.My primary areas of expertise include Theoretical Linguistics and Descriptive Linguistics, with research focusing on the following topics: Sociolinguistics, the analysis of Indigenous languages (Pano and Arawak language families), and Sign Language Linguistics.Externally funded research projects include:The Ofayé Language: A Lexicographic Study (Call MCT/CNPq 03/2008 - Humanities, Social Sciences, and Applied Social Sciences).The Kulina Language (Pano family) at Risk of Extinction: Analysis and Documentation (Call MCT/CNPq/MEC/CAPES No. 02/2010 - Humanities, Social Sciences, and Applied Social Sciences).Between 2022 and 2025, I coordinated the application center of CELPE-Bras at UFMT. Additionally, as a guest educator, I was part of the More Doctors Program (MEC/Ministry of Health), conducting missions in Cuba during the years 2017 and 2018.Since 2007, I have been engaged in graduate programs, teaching at UFMS from 2007 to 2021, and at UFMT from 2022 to the present.
