Birthplace: Brazil

Graduated in Geology from the University of São Paulo (2002) and holds a Ph.D. in Sciences (Geosciences - Mineralogy and Petrology) from the University of São Paulo (2008). Completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Mineralogy and Geotectonics (GMG) at the Institute of Geosciences (IGc), University of São Paulo (20082010), focusing on cumulate rocks with an alkaline trend. Conducted international research (postdoctoral fellowship/visiting professor) at the University of Alberta (Canada) in 2018, specializing in trace element and isotopic microanalysis of perovskites from kimberlite rocks.Since 2010, he has been a faculty member at the Institute of Geosciences (IGc), University of São Paulo (USP), and has been an Associate Professor in Igneous Petrology area since 2020. Has extensive experience in Igneous Petrology, with current research focusing on the open-system evolution processes of silica-undersaturated magmas (crustal assimilation, magma mixing and recharge), such as kimberlites, carbonatites, alkaline lamprophyres, as well as the typical mafic and felsic alkaline magmas in chamber settings. These research topics involves the combination of petrographic controls with application of advanced microanalytical techniques, such as electron microprobe analysis and laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS), for determining elemental and isotopic compositions of minerals. These methods are complemented by traditional geochemical techniques, including X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), for whole-rock analysis. In 2022, he co-founded and became the coordinator of the "Insaturados" research group, which focuses on silica-undersaturated magmatic systems. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
