Researcher A from Embrapa Agrobiologia (Seropédica/RJ, Brazil) focuses on the multifunctionality of food heritage and local biodiversity, with a special emphasis on neglected plants (non-conventional food plants). Her work aims to create opportunities for diversifying urban and rural agroecosystems, with the goal of enhancing ecosystem services, particularly pollination, while facilitating adaptation to climate extremes across multiple landscape scales. She teaches the Agricultural Landscape Ecology course in the Graduate Program in Organic Agriculture (PPGAO). Within the Brazilian Association of Agroecology (ABA), she coordinates the Working Group on Biodiversity and Common Goods. As a member of the State Council for Sustainable Rural Development of Rio de Janeiro, she has collaborated with other researchers, rural and urban farmers, technicians involved in technical assistance and rural extension, as well as representatives from the state environmental agency and traditional communities, contributing to the development of the state policy on agroecology and organic agriculture. She holds a degree in Agronomy from the School of Agronomy at the Federal University of Bahia, a master's degree from the State University of Campinas, and a Ph.D. from the State University of Campinas/University of Paris (Paris 6) _ Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD) in Natural Resource Management.
