Danilo Giroldo

Full professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande - FURG. Advisor for University Consolidation and Expansion at the Federal University of São Carlos - UFSCar. He holds a degree in Biological Sciences (Bachelor's degree) from the Federal University of São Carlos (1995), a master's degree and a doctorate in Ecology and Natural Resources from the University Federal University of São Carlos (1998 and 2003), having completed a doctoral internship at the University of Oslo, Norway (2002). He works with Phycology, especially on cultivation and eco-physiology of freshwater and estuarine microalgae, with an emphasis on the production, excretion and ecological impacts of organic compounds. He served as Head of the Department of Morpho-biological Sciences, Director and Vice-Director of the Institute of Biological Sciences, Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, Manager of the OCEANTEC Tech Park, Vice-Rector, President of the Naval and Energy Cluster of Rio Grande and Surroundings.
