Birthplace: Brazil

I am an ivited professor (full-time position) at the Maua Technological Institute. I was an assistant professor at the Federal University of São João del-Rei (2024-2025). I am also an invited professor at the Aeronautics Technological Institute (ITA) and the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). I hold a Ph.D. degree in philosophy (University of São Paulo, 2017), a bachelors degree in philosophy (Jesuit Faculty of Philosophy and Theology, 2008), and a masters and a bachelors degree in electrical engineering (University of Campinas, 2002 and 1999).My research area encompasses the philosophy of technology and engineering, engineering education, and engaged extension. I am now studying engaged technical designs (mainly focusing on those with bigger emancipatory or decolonial impacts), decolonial theory and philosophy, and engineering education. I am particularly interested in:1) understanding the emancipatory/decolonial technical practices uniqueness, when compared to the mainstream ones, in terms of: applied methodologies and how and to what extent they promote dialogue of knowledge with the supported/partner group and foster decoloniality; (other) knowledge they use and produce; orienting values and worldviews; built solutions and their sociotechnical impacts;2) identifying, drawing on 1, limitations in the currently established ontological, epistemic, and political understandings in the field of philosophy of technology (PT), offering enlargements (in dialogue with the areas tradition -- also the decolonial nascent one) and thus contributing to PTs decolonization;3) conceiving and implementing educative practices capable of forming engineering students to engaged designs in general and, specifically, to decolonial technical designs.I am a member of the Brazilian Popular/Grassroots Engineering Network (Repos), the Philosophical Association Scientiae Studia, and the Work Group on Philosophy of Technology at the Brazilian National Philosophy Association (Anpof).
