Biologist graduated from USP with a PhD in Human Ecology from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. Roberta developed a doctoral thesis on the evolutionary ecology of the Agta people of the Philippines on which she lectured in India and Japan. She was a visiting professor at the Federal University of Maranhão, in the Masters in Health and Environment and at the Federal University of Espírito Santo and worked on projects with local communities, such as fishermen, indigenous people and quilombolas. At the State Institute for the Environment and Water Resources of Espírito Santo, she was an analyst focused on protected areas and executive secretary of the State Committee for the Atlantic Forest Biosphere Reserve. As a researcher at the Espírito Santo Research, Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Institute, she developed projects with the economic use of native fruits from the Atlantic Forest and the juçara palm tree. She taught at the technical course in agriculture at the Federal Institute of Espírito Santo, Campus Montanha. In 2020 she co-founded Coclima, a startup that aims to engage people, companies and governments in climate action through technology. In 2022 she was hired by the company Carbonext as coordinator of a REDD + project with the purpose of conserving forests in the Brazilian legal Amazon with financing via carbon credits.
