Graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of São Paulo (2002), PhD in Genetics from the University of São Paulo (2007), Free Lecturer in Genetics and Evolution (2014) and Full Professor (2023) at the School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities of the University from Sao Paulo. His research interests are related to Meliponiculture, Citizen Science, Environmental Education, conservation of stingless bees and biotechnological applications of bee products, such as propolis, honey and associated microorganisms. He was Coordinator and Deputy Coordinator of the Degree in Natural Sciences, President of the EACH-USP Graduation Commission and member of the working group responsible for creating the Bachelor of Biotechnology course.
