He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (1995), a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (1997), and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of Campinas and Virginia Tech (USA) (2000). He holds two postdoctoral degrees in Brazil (INPE) and one in Germany (DLR - German Aerospace Center). He is currently an Associate Professor Level IV at the Federal University of ABC. He has experience in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering, with an emphasis on modeling and control of nonlinear systems, working mainly in: flexible rotating structures, nonlinear systems, nonlinear control, contact dynamics, modeling and control of artificial satellites and rockets, fluid-structure interaction, and modeling and control of space tethers.
