B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering at Instituto Militar de Engenharia - IME (1985), M.Sc. Space Science at the Brazilian Space Research Institute - INPE (1990), M.S.E. Aerospace Engineering at University of Michigan (1993) and Ph.D. Aerospace Engineering at University of Michigan (1995). Senior researcher of INPE and lecturer of the graduate course on Space Engineering and Technology (PGETE) of INPE in the areas of combustion and propulsion since 1995. Member of the advisory council of the PGETE. Head of the Combustion and Propulsion Laboratory and member of the advisory council of the Coordination of Space Engineering and Technology of INPE during 10 years. Technical supervisor for the transfer of satellite propulsion technology from Thales Alenia Space to the brazilian industry. Coordinates the PROPSAT project to update INPE's thruster testing infrastructure, with upgrading of test benches of chemical thrusters in vaccuum and in ambient conditions and implantation of an Electric Propulsion Laboratory. Coordinates and/or participates in different research projects in the areas of propulsion and combustion, including topics such as monopropellant, bipropellant, hybrid and electric propulsion, green propellants, gelled propellants, numerical simulation of reactive flows, optimization of propulsive systems, industrial combustion, environmental combustion and development of injectors, atomization and sprays. Research grants were obtained from different support agencies: FAPESP, CNPq, CAPES, FINEP. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
