Diléia Santana dos Santos

Diléia holds a Bachelors degree in Agronomic Engineering from the University of São Paulo (2005), a Master's degree in Agronomy (Soils and Plant Nutrition) from the University of Sao Paulo (2007), a PhD in Applied Ecology (Rural Development) from the University of Sao Paulo (2015) and a Post-Doctorate in Sociology and Rural Extension. She is currently a Federal Agrarian Expert at the National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform (INCRA).She served as coordinator of the Environment service at INCRA Bahia (2006-2010) and worked in the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension (ATER) team of INCRA Sao Paulo (2014-2019). Diléia also participated in the committee of elaboration of the public call of ATER 01/2017, which incorporated the goals of Agroecological Transition, Productive Backyards and Monitoring of Agroforestry Systems in the ATER contract. In addition, Diléia specializes in participatory methodologies in the execution of ATER work, and has been promoting training for professionals hired by INCRA, as a requirement of the public call.She developed her post-doctorate at the Department of Economics, Administration and Sociology at ESALQ/USP (2022), working in the three axes of academic knowledge: Teaching, Research and Extension. During the post-doctorate, Diléia researched Agroforestry Systems in agrarian reform settlements in the State of São Paulo; taught classes on Rural Extension in the Sociology and Extension discipline, presenting participatory methodologies as an ATER tool; and promoted students' contact with the reality of the settlements through projects and academic visits.
