Graduated in Cinema at the Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado (2000), with a master's in Religious Studies at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (2003) and a ph.d. in Religious Studies at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (2007). Has researching and lecturing experience in Theology, and the following subjects: theory of religion, Mystical theology, Patrology, Political Philosophy, Modern Philosophy and Philosophy of Religion. Elcio has worked for the past ten years as a screenwriter and cinema and advertisement director as well as a translator of specialized pieces in Ancient Philosophy and Religion.
