Since 1998, my academic work has been focused on developing a critical feminist approach on various issues emerging from speech acts and identities articulations in the modern-colonial world system. My research centers in topics such as body and speech acts connections, performativity, gender and sexism, race and racism, linguistic ideologies, metadiscursive regimes, and metapragmatic resources. I am also interested in contemporary national and transnational mobilities, and in challenges for digital environment challenges to language interaction models. My work has been elaborated mostly in articles, but also chapters and coauthored full books; it includes contributions to conferences proceedings, magazines, newspapers, and TV and podcast interviews. I am Full Professor at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), where I teach Methodology, Semantics, Pragmatics, and often other courses on language and its relevance in the production of identities, politics and culture. At my university, I was also the coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Letters and Linguistics (2015-2017) and an editor of the journal Signótica (UFG) for 12 years (2012-2024). I completed my education in Linguistics at Federal University of Goiás (BA, 1995) under the supervision of both Oto Araújo Vale and Lydia Polech, and at Unicamp under the supervision of Kanavillil Rajagopalan (Master's, 1998; PhD, 2002). Part of my PhD studies were developed under the supervision of Jacques Derrida at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (Paris, 1999-2000). I was also a postdoctoral fellow in three periods: 1) at the Pagu Gender Studies Center (Unicamp, 2013-2014), under the supervision of Adriana Piscitelli, where I deepened my studies on body, gender, race and mobility; 2) at the Babylon Center (Tilburg University, Netherlands, 2014), under the supervision of Jan Blommaert, where I strengthened my studies on mobility and linguistic ideologies; 3) at the Department of Anthropology at Columbia University (2021-2022), under the supervision of Elizabeth Povinelli, where I strengthened my studies on metapragmatics, semiotic mediation and subjectivation. Currently, I am part of the Central-West Nucleus of the Institute for Advanced Studies on Gender Inequities, Inequalities and Violence and their Multiple Insurgencies (INCT Caleidoscópio), based at Brasília University. I am a member of leading and prominent research networks: the International Gender and Language Association (IGALA), where I has been also a ordinary member of Advisory Council (2013-2015); the International Pragmatics Association (IPrA); the Research Network on Discourse and Gender (REDIGE) of the Latin American Association for Discourse Studies (ALED); the Brazil's Applied Linguistics Association (ALAB); and the Brazilian Association of Linguistics (Abralin); the National Association of Postgraduate Studies in Literature and Linguistics (ANPOLL), where I am currently a member of the coordination team of the ANPOLL WG "Identity Practices in Applied Linguistics" (2024-2026 term), in addition to having participated in two previous terms (2008-2010 and 2010-2012). I am currently a member of the WG "Technologies to combat racism in schools and HEIs" of the Institute of Advanced Studies in Inequities, Inequalities and Gender and Sexual Violence and their Multiple Insurgencies (INCT-Caleidoscópio), based at the University of Brasília (UnB).
