Graduation in Industrial Chemistry from the Federal University of Bahia (1995), a master's degree (1997), and a doctorate (2001) in Chemistry (Analytical Chemistry) from the University of São Paulo. He did postdoctoral work at the University of São Paulo between 2001 and 2002. He joined the Federal University of Juiz de Fora in 2002 as an Adjunct Professor, and since 2018 he has been a Full Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. He coordinates NUPIS (Research Center for Instrumentation and Analytical Separations) and has experience in Analytical Chemistry, with an emphasis on Electroanalysis, working mainly on the use of low-cost electrochemical sensors (3D and paper) for the development of analytical methodologies aimed at the quantification of drugs in food, environmental and biological samples.
