BS in Biological Sciences from the State University of Campinas (1987), Masters in Agricultural Sciences (Plant Physiology) from the Federal University of Viçosa (1993), Ph.D. in Agronomy (Plant Breeding and Genetics), University of São Paulo (2001) and Post doctorate at Rothamsted Research Center (2011). She is a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, Embrapa unit in the Cerrado. Works in Plant Physiology, with main focus on the identification of physiological parameters for the selection of cultivars tolerant to water stress, dental project plant breeding (wheat and sugarcane). It also studies the impact of some soil management systems on physiological responses of crops such as corn, sugar cane and grasses (pasture). The studies are concentrated: mechanisms of tolerance to water stress, metabolism of carbon and nitrogen. Also has experience in plant tissue culture and genetic transformation.
