Alejandro Jorge Dorado

Alejandro Dorado holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Biology, from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina and was awarded a Masters degree in Ecology (1992) and a Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD) in Public Health (1998) from the University of São Paulo, Brazil, and his Post-Doctoral thesis in the Public Health area. He was a consultant for FAO Food and Agriculture Organization - (Roma, Chile) and the European Community (IES, Ispra, Italy).He has been living in Brazil since 1988, where he has been a consultant for EMBRAPA Campinas - Satellite Monitoring, a technical expert for the State of Paraná and Federal Public Prosecutor Office, Short Term Consultant at IFC/WB, and an environmental research coordinator for several major NGOs: Institute of Advanced Studies in Environmental Management IGAMBIENTAL and ECOFORCE. He was a member of the National Research Council of Argentina (CONICET).He is a specialist in Ecosystems Ecology and Public Health, Environmental Planning and Management and Envrronmental and Social Governance. He also has great experience in Environmental Impact Assessment and Permitting for major developments, and has dedicated most of his 37 years of professional experience to environmental projects.In the academic area, he was the Coordinator of the post-graduate Environmental areas at several universities. At present he is researcher at IEA/USP, professor at the post-graduate courses of the Environmental Health Department of the Public Health College of the University of São Paulo and other major academic institutions. Furthermore, he has published more than 90 scientific works in Brazil and abroad and is a technical consultant for cientific magazines.Now Dr. Dorado is working with due diligence for the Equator Principles and performance standards in many project in Brazil, Africa and Latin America.
