Graduated in Biological Sciences with Bachelor degree from the University of São Paulo (1997). Ph.D degree in Epidemiology from the University of São Paulo (2013). Currently I am Scientific Researcher V in the Instituto Adolfo Lutz. I've been working mainly on phylogenetic analysis and molecular evolution of arboviruses, hantavirus and arenavirus, developing research in molecular epidemiology of arboviruses, hantavirus and arenavirus and studies of phylogeography and viral phylodynamics. I'm interested in ecology of arbovirus hantavirus and arenavirus, geographic distribution of vectors and reservoirs and ecological niche modeling. I am also interested in understanding the ecological, virological and molecular drivers behind the emergence of new viruses and the process of pathogen sharing between animals and humans.
