He holds a degree in Agronomy Engineering from the Federal University of São Carlos (2000), a master's degree in Agronomy with emphasis on Plant Pathology (2003) and a PhD in Agronomy (2008), both from the University of São Paulo. Postdoctoral degree by EMPRAPA Tropical Agroindustry (DCR scholarship holder in the years 2008-2009 and, 2009-2010). He is currently associate professor at the Federal University of Sergipe responsible for the disciplines: Phytopathology II, Fruticulture II, Introduction to the Agronomic Engineering Course, and President of the Supervised Internship Coordinating Committee. It develops researches in phytopathology and genetic improvement, acting mainly in the following subjects: Post-harvest pathology; Alternative control of phytopathogens; Sugar cane: genetic improvement and development of varieties, molecular and serological diagnosis of ratoon stunting disease of sugarcane (RSD); Citros: diagnosis and epidemiology of CVC and Gomose. He is Coordinator of the Sugarcane Genetic Improvement Program in the State of Sergipe, which integrates RIDESA (Interuniversity Network for the Development of the Sugarcane Sector) and, Chief Coordinator of the Department of Agronomic Engineering of the" Campus do Sertão" in Federal University of Sergipe.
