Mr Alves is a professor of the Maths Department of the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), Brazil, since 2002. Main Research interests lie in Algebra and its applications: global and partial actions and coactions of Hopf algebras, crossed products, Hopf algebroids and Hopf categories, and also Algebraic Coding Theory with focus on poset codes. Has 258 citations at Mathscinet and 298 at Scopus. Mr Alves has supervised 8 PhD dissertations, 12 master thesis, 16 undergraduate thesis and 22 undergraduate scientific initiation scholarships. He is currently the director of the Graduate Program in Mathematics of UFPR and was also previously the director of the same program from 2005 to 2007, 2009 to 2010 and from 2017 to 2018.
