Master's degree (2001) and PhD (2005) in Sciences from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo. He holds the title of Specialist in Digestive Surgery (2000), with qualification in oncologic surgery of the digestive tract (2001), videosurgery of the digestive tract (2001) and bariatric surgery (2004). Full Member of the Brazilian College of Digestive Surgery (CBCD), Brazilian College of Surgeons (CBC), Brazilian Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery (SBCBM), International Federation of Obesity Surgery (IFSO) and American Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery (ASBMS) ). He is a doctor of the Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Unit, of the Digestive Surgery Division, Department of Gastroenterology, Hospital das Clínicas, School of Medicine, University of São Paulo. Has academic production mainly focused on the study of subjects related to Obesity and Bariatric Surgery. He works as a bariatric surgeon at the Nove de Julho Hospital Weight Control Center (São Paulo - SP), is the head of the surgical team at the same hospital since 2002 and has been director of the Obesity Control Center (private clinic) since 2008. .
