Fabricio Reiner holds a Masters degree in Philosophy with a specialization in Brazilian Cultures and Identities from the University of São Paulo (USP), completed in 2016. He earned his Bachelors and Teaching Degree in History from the same institution in 2005 and has since developed a strong career as a researcher and curator, collaborating with various public and private institutions. Among his notable partnerships are the Federal Senate, Biblioteca Mário de Andrade, Atelier Maria Bonomi, and Galeria Millan, as well as academic projects at the Institute of Brazilian Studies (IEB-USP), where he conducted research on Brazilian art history.His masters dissertation focused on the sculptural work of Ettore Ximenes, analyzing the construction of Brazilian and Italian national identities through the artists creations. Beyond academia, Reiner played a pivotal role in launching the BMA24h project and establishing the Visual Arts Department at Biblioteca Mário de Andrade, expanding cultural initiatives and curating numerous exhibitions in São Paulo.As a curator, he was involved in selecting and supporting Brazilian artists at the Havana Biennial in 2019, leading to a parallel exhibition in Cubas capital. In 2022, marking the centenary of Brazils Modern Art Week, he co-curated the exhibition Era Uma Vez o Moderno in partnership with IEB-USP and Sesi-SP, showcasing an extensive collection of paintings, sculptures, engravings, and rare documents. This curatorial work earned a nomination for Best Curatorship by the Brazilian Association of Art Critics (ABCA).Also in 2022, he co-curated the exhibition Watú is not Dead, which presented a contemporary and decolonial perspective on Brazilian social and cultural issues, featuring works by 11 contemporary artists. Throughout his career, Reiner has been deeply committed to promoting and disseminating Brazilian art, consistently fostering discussions about identity, memory, and history in his research and curatorial projects.
