Paulo Eduardo Fonseca de Campos

I am Associate Professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo (FAUUSP), where I founded and coordinated the digital manufacturing laboratory FAB LAB SP and the Research Group DIGI-FAB - Digital manufacturing technologies applied to the production of Contemporary Design and Architecture. Associate Researcher at ISTAR-Information Sciences and Technologies and Architecture Research Center of ISCTE-IUL, Portugal (2019 - 2023). I was the coordinator of the Design and Architecture Area at the FAUUSP Post-Graduation Program. Visiting professor at the Department of Architecture of the University of Coimbra, Portugal, with a Post-Doctoral fellowship (BPE) granted by FAPESP (2018-2019). Visiting researcher at the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape of Newcastle University, in the United Kingdom, where I developed a Post-Doctorate with a Post-Doctoral fellowship (BPE) granted by FAPESP (2014-2015). I hold a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas (1981). I obtained a Master degree in Civil and Urban Construction Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (1989). My PhD degree is in Architecture and Urbanism from the University of São Paulo (2002). Since 2016 I am Senior Associate Professor in undergraduate and graduate courses at FAUUSP. I coordinated the FAUUSP Design Course (2011-2013). Other activities: superintendent of the Brazilian Committee on Civil Construction (CB-02) of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT) (2012-2015). I worked in the Brazilian Quality and Productivity Habitat Program (PBQP-H) of the Ministry of Cities, where I was a full member of the National Committee for Technological Development of Housing (CTECH). I was Technical Director of ABCIC-Brazilian Association of Industrialized Concrete Construction (Biennium 2003-2004). International Housing Technology Consultant of UNDP-United Nations Development Program (2006). International coordinator of the MicroCAD Research Project of the Ibero-American Cooperation Programme CYTED (2008-2013). Corresponding member of the Prefabrication Working Group of FIB-Fédération Internationale du Béton. I have experience in the area of Architecture and Urbanism, with an emphasis on industrialized building systems, acting mainly on the following themes: prefabricated buildings, housing, high-performance concrete, digital fabrication, urbanization and sanitation.
