Dr. Luiz A. P. Lima Jr. is currently a full professor of computer science at the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná-PUCPR (Brazil) since 1999. He graduated in Computer Science from the University of São Paulo-USP (Brazil) in 1991, got his master degree from State University of Campinas-UNICAMP (Brazil) in 1994 and his Ph.D. from the Université D'Évry-Val D'Essonne/National Institute of Telecommunications-INT (France) in 1998. He has since supervised several research projects and has published many papers in the areas of distributed and parallel algorithms, distributed systems and middleware, cloud computing, data replication, virtual magnetic fields, swarm computing, mobile computing and disruption-tolerant networks.
