She graduated in Medicine from the Botucatu School of Medicine - UNESP (2001). She completed her medical residency in Anesthesiology (2004) and Pain (2005) at the same institution, as well as her PhD in Anesthesiology (2008) and her Habilitation in Antalgic Therapy and Palliative Care (2022). She holds a specialist title in Anesthesiology with an area of #8203;#8203;expertise in Pain and Palliative Medicine from the Brazilian Medical Association. She works as an associate professor in the discipline of Antalgic Therapy and Palliative Care (beginning in 2010) and as a permanent professor in the Graduate Programs in Anesthesiology (beginning in 2014) and Clinical Research (beginning in 2020) at the Botucatu School of Medicine - UNESP. She was responsible for the research "Evaluating the Interaction Between Pain Intensity and Resilience on the Impact of Pain in the Lives of People With Fibromyalgia," part of a web survey with 2,176 participants. She was the first author of a review article on Complex Regional Pain Syndrome published in the prestigious British Medical Journal and authored the chapter "Pain Amplification Syndrome and Fibromyalgia" in the Brazilian Society for the Study of Pain's Neuropathic Pain Treatise. She is a preceptor in the Pediatric Palliative Care and Adult Chronic Pain outpatient clinics at the Hospital das Clínicas of the Botucatu School of Medicine. Additionally, she is a member of the Pain and Palliative Care Center of the São Paulo State Society of Anesthesiology. Her main research area is "Pain and Palliative Care."
