Rodrigo Garcez is a Brazilian multimedia artist who did part of his PhD at University of Manchester, investigating the possible relations among medias, especially visual and performance art. Since 1998 he is researching on mixed media, first with ?Movement in the air? project (1998-2001) that was a performative photography exhibition and a Brazilian folk music album. The entire project was made with the collaboration of MST peasants (Movement of Landless Peasants-Brazil) and was showed in several Brazilian cities including the 2nd World Social Forum in Porto Alegre. In 2000 he created ?Liebesterium? where the abstract of video-feedback was mixed with rock music. Between 2002 and 2005 he wrote the thesis ?Photoscenic Guide of the "Macuqueiros" Characters? which investigates the photography as a resource to applied theatre. From 2005 to 2010 he worked on his PhD " Kinokaos: Hypermontage as a key to understand mediatic flows among mixed media art works". He is also the editor of TFC journal (Territories and Frontiers of the Contemporary Scene). Since 2002 he has Fapesp fellowships. Contact info: www.kinokaos.net (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
