Graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (USP) in 1982, Master in Nuclear Reactor Technology by the Institute of Nuclear and Energetic Research in 1985 and PhD in Nuclear Engineering by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1989. He is currently researcher of the National Nuclear Energy Commission and professor at the Instituto Mauá de Tecnologia. He has been a professor at the Department of Mechatronics Engineering of University of São Paulo for 30 years. He works in the areas of artificial inteligence, dynamic systems and control, robotics and energy systems.
