Associate Professor of Contemporary History at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Bachelors and a Masters degree in History from the Federal University of Paraná, Brazil, and a PhD in Political Science from the Free University of Berlin (supported by a DAAD scholarship). My doctoral research was focused on the Nazi newspaper Der Stürmer, its cartoons, and their Anti-Semitic nature, especially the discourse and the ideology that led to the genocide. The methodology used is a qualitative one; more specifically, the Documentary Method developed by Ralf Bohnsack. Developed a postdoctoral research at the University of São Paulo (USP) between 2012 and 2014 on the Brazilina cartoonist Belmonte, who worked in São Paulo during the Vargas dictatorship of the "New State". I have also been postdoctoral fellow, between 2014 and 2017, and lecturer at the Graduate School in History at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), where I developed a transnational research on political cartoons in the 1940s authoritarian regimes in Portugal, Germany, Argentina and Brazil. Between 2017 and 2019 I have been postdoctoral researcher at the Fluminense Federal University, and between 2019 and 2020 at Paris-3 University (Sorbonne Nouvelle), supported by a Capes-Cofecub scholarship. I'm also associate researcher of EUROPA - Nucleus for the Study of Early Modern and Modern History.Other interests include Politics and Art, Political Theory (part.
