Antonio Gracias Vieira Filho

Antonio holds a degree in Social Sciences from the University of São Paulo (2003) and a master's degree from the Department of Anthropology of the same institution (2007). Between 2000 and early 2007, he worked academically in the area of #8203;#8203;Anthropology, with an emphasis on Urban Anthropology, focusing on the following themes: Afro-Brazilian religions, literature, and research methods and techniques (ethnography). Throughout 2008 and early 2009, he worked in the third sector, analyzing public policies aimed at professional certification and Youth and Adult Education. He participated (2008-2011 and 2015-2016) in the research group Impacts of nanotechnology on workers' health and the environment, coordinated by Fundacentro/Ministry of Labor and which included the participation of several relevant institutions (DIEESE, DIESAT, CUT, Força Sindical, Fiocruz, among others). In this group, he analyzed the ethical issues raised by technological innovations and the general public's perception of them. After working in the private sector (2011-2014), his academic focus turned to the transformations in the world of work and the study of flexible capital accumulation processes. In this line of research, he has dedicated himself to the themes of organizational culture and management processes. He also began to study the resumption of the space race, based on the phenomenon known as NewSpace. In this regard, he is interested in the processes of exploration of outer space and the increasing prominence of large corporations in this sector of economic, scientific and technological activity. Still in the context of NewSpace, he is currently conducting doctoral research with the World Political Economy program at the Federal University of ABC.
