Ana Paula Glinfskoi The

I hold a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of São Carlos (1995), and a PhD in Ecology and Natural Resources from the same institution (2003), with a doctoral internship at the "Natural Resources Institute" at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada (2002). My research areas include Ethnoecology, Environmental Education, and Socioenvironmental Studies, focusing mainly on traditional ecological knowledge, community management, environmental conflicts, environmental justice, and development. I have experience in popular education and community development, having worked with NGOs (World Fisheries Trust/WFT - Ca) and consulted for IBAMA (Brazil), the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture (Brazil), and the Food and Agriculture Organization - FAO (Rome). Currently, I am an Adjunct Professor at the State University of Montes Claros in the Department of General Biology, Associate Coordinator and Permanent Professor of the Postgraduate Program in Social Development at UNIMONTES - PPGDS, and collaborator of the Postgraduate Program in Biodiversity and Use of Natural Resources - PPGBURN. I coordinate the Laboratory of Environmental Education and Human Ecology - LEAEH at UNIMONTES and am a member of the Socioenvironmental Interdisciplinary Research Center - NIISA/UNIMONTES. I am the vice president of the Brazilian Society of Ethnobiology and Ethnoecology (2022-2024) and part of the network of artisanal fishing partners in Brazil - the Solidarity Network of Fishing. Finally, I advocate for Public Universities in the State of Minas Gerais as a member of the board of the Association of Teachers of UNIMONTES (Adunimontes) since 2019. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
