Geraldo Alecio de Oliveira

Pharmacist graduated from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (1990) in the areas of Clinical Analyzes, Food and Medicines. From 1990 to 2007 he worked in clinical analysis and laboratory management at companies such as Hospital de Cotia, Hospital Vila Penteado in São Paulo, Fundação Hemocentro in São Paulo, Hospital das Clínicas de São Paulo and Hospital do Coração - HCor. I am a Master and Ph.D. in Pharmacy (Clinical Analysis - Clinical Microbiology) from the University of São Paulo (1995-2002). In the research área, I am the first Latin American researcher to isolate and identify strains of Vancomycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (VRSA) and the first investigator in the world to report an outbreak of VRSA. I hold an MBA in Business Management from Universidade Anhembi Morumbi (2008-2009). I have been professor and coordinator of the Pharmacy Course of the Anhembi Morumbi University between 1999 and 2017. I have experience in higher education, management in higher education, health education, active teaching-learning methodologies, Self Evaluation Committee (CPA) and quality improvement in higher education. I went vice-president of the Brazilian Pharmaceutical-Biochemical Teaching Association (ABENFARBIO) between 2007 and 2013, a member of the Board of Directors of the Brazilian Association of Pharmaceutical Education (ABEF) between 2013 and 2016 and I am a member of the Advisory Committee on Pharmaceutical Education of the Regional Council of Pharmacy (CRF-SP). I have extensive experience in teacher training in the areas of academic planning and active learning methodologies, when I have carried out teaching training in various educational institutions of the Laureate Network in Brazil and abroad.
