Leandro Freitas received his Ph.D. degree in Plant Biology from the State University of Campinas. His main areas of study are Botany and Ecology with particular interests in reproductive biology and pollination, floral biology, phenology, community ecology, plant-animal interactions, and biodiversity conservation. He is currently Full Researcher at the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden, coordinator of the National Institute of Science and Technology in Pollination (CNPq), and a faculty member of the Graduate Programs in Botany / JBRJ and Ecology / UFRJ (academics) and Biodiversity in Protected Areas / JBRJ-ICMBio (professional). He was fellow of the Young Scientist of Our State and is a current fellow of the Scientist of Our State Program - FAPERJ. He served as Representative of the Ministry of the Environment at the National Technical Biosafety Committee (CTNBio), and as Deputy Coordinator of both Professional Programs and Academic Programs of the Biodiversity Area - CAPES.
