Bachelor in Social Sciences (1998), Master in Sociology (2001), and PhD in Sociology (2007) from the University of São Paulo (USP). Currently, she is the Coordinator of the Professional Master's Program in Citizen Security (PPGSEG) at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), where she also serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and a permanent member of the Graduate Program in Sociology.She is a researcher in the Violence and Citizenship Research Group (GPVC), a member of the Brazilian Sociological Association (SBS) and the International Sociological Association (ISA). She is also part of the Education and Youth Research Group (GEPJUVE), the Juve Network, and the Research Committees on Sociology of Violence and Sociology of Youth at SBS.Her areas of expertise include youth sociology, sociology of violence and conflict, and citizen security. She has experience in quantitative and qualitative research methods applied to the Social Sciences, working as a research consultant, particularly in focus group studies.Her work primarily focuses on the following topics: youth homicides, youth and violence, Brazilian police institutions, public security policies and citizen security, and violence prevention.
