Carla Natacha Marcolino Polaz

Carla is a biologist at heart, a dancer, an Aquarian (Zodiacs), a free-living person, belongs to the ecovillage movement, likes to travel and her favorite color is yellow. Graduated in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar, 2004/2005), with specialization in Environmental Management from the Luiz de Queiroz School of Agriculture (ESALQ / USP, 2005), master's degree in Urban Engineering also from UFSCar (2008) and PhD in Sciences from the University of São Paulo (2013). She is currently an Environmental Analyst and instructor at the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio / MMA), working at the National Center for Research and Conservation of Continental Aquatic Biodiversity (CEPTA), in Pirassununga / SP. Carla develops research projects focused on biodiversity conservation and environmental monitoring, especially for fish and continental aquatic invertebrates threatened with extinction. Carla has experience in #8203;Environmental Sciences, with emphasis on Biodiversity Conservation and Urban Sustainability. Acts in Brazilian Action Plans (PAN), in institutional monitoring programs and in the Assessment of the State of Conservation of Endangered Species (Brazilian Red List). She is an accredited advisor in the Professional Biodiversity Graduate Program in Conservation Units of the JBRJ. Carla believes that science can be funnier and that kindness transforms the world.
