Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Escola de Engenharia de São Carlos (EESC) (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal) Birthplace: Brazil
Adjunt Professor IV at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Production at the Federal University of São João Del Rei (DEMEP-UFSJ) and permanent professor in the Postgraduate Program in Mechanical Engineering - PPMEC-UFSJ, hired by the institution in 2013. Graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of São Paulo - São Carlos School of Engineering (2006), being a scientific initiation and technical training scholarship holder from FAPESP. Holds a master's degree from the Interunits Program in Science and Engineering of Materials at the University of São Paulo (2009), also with a FAPESP scholarship, and a Ph.D. from the Science and Engineering of Materials program at the University of São Paulo (2013), with a CNPq scholarship, including a sandwich doctoral period at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. Recently, carried out a Postdoctoral research (2018-2019) at the University Grenoble Alpes, where maintains an international partnership (Prof. Yves Wouters and Laurence Latu-Romain) in the area of high-temperature oxidation. Has been working on this topic since the Ph.D., also with national partnerships, in which co-supervised Ph.D. students (USP-São Carlos), supervised master's and undergraduate students in various metal alloys: low-cost ferrous alloys, FeMnSiCrNi alloys (partnership with UFSCar - Prof. Carlos Rovere), stainless steels, high-entropy alloys (partnership with USP-São Carlos/UFSCar/Unesp/UFABC - Prof. Marcelo Falcão/Prof. Carlos Rovere/Prof. Renato Baldan/Prof. Frederico Fernandes), nickel superalloys (partnership with Unesp - Prof. Renato Baldan), and also titanium alloys with a focus on their use as biomaterials (partnership with UFTM - Prof. Jeférson Moreto). In these research projects, has experience with characterization techniques such as scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and atomic force microscopy (SEM/EDS, TEM-ASTAR, and AFM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and photoelectrochemical analyses (PEC). Throughout the career, has also worked on projects related to mechanical properties and friction stir spot welding in aluminum (during master's and undergraduate studies). Has projects in the field of university extension, related to materials recycling, with equipment development, articles, and patents. Finally, in the teaching field, has been involved in internationalization efforts, serving as a local coordinator for the Brafitec program, which involves students in double degree programs in France.
