Mathias Glens holds a master's degree in Psychology from the University of São Paulo (USP) and wrote a dissertation on public policies for children and adolescents experiencing violence. He is also a specialist in Forensic Psychology (CFP). He is currently a psychologist at the São Paulo State Public Defender's Office, coordinating the institution's Psychology department through the Interdisciplinary Support Group (GAI). He has also worked at the Public Defender's Office's Citizenship and Human Rights Center. He is a psychoanalyst in private practice. He also supervises clinical and professional psychologists in the Justice System. He was a professor of Social Psychology and Legal Psychology at Faculdades Metropolitanas Unidas (FMU) and Universidade São Marcos. At FMU, he also supervised internships and final theses (TCC). He was a research fellow at the Social Science Research Council (SSRC) - Drugs, Security, and Democracy Program, where he conducted research on the oversight of Therapeutic Communities in Brazil. He worked as a social educator and, later, as coordinator of an institutional shelter service (SAICA) for children and adolescents who were victims of violence at the Guarulhos City Hall. He was also a child and adolescent rights advisor to the Guarulhos Municipal Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (CMDCA), where he discussed, analyzed, and monitored municipal public policies for children and adolescents.
