Carlos Alexandre Wuensche holds a degree in Physics from the State University of Rio de Janeiro, a master's degree in Astrogeophysics from the National Institute for Space Research and a PhD in Cosmology from the National Institute for Space Research, with a internship at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is a senior researcher at the National Institute for Space Research. He has experience in Astronomy, with an emphasis on Cosmology, working mainly on the following topics: Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation (CMB), Cosmology, Galactic Microwave Emission, and Instrumentation in Radio Astronomy. He has participated in several international projects related to the study of the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation since 1991. He is also interested in the area of #8203;#8203;Astrobiology, with a focus on habitability and astrochemistry. He was Head of the Astrophysics Division - DIAST (2002 - 2004, 2021 - 2023), Coordinator of the Postgraduate Course in Astrophysics (2009-2012), Chief of Staff of the INPE Directorate (2012 - 2016) and full member of the Technical-Scientific Council (CTC) of INPE (2018 - 2020), among other administrative functions. He is the current head of the DIAST Cosmology research line, and principal investigator of the BINGO project (BAO from Integrated Neutral Gas Observations), in partnership with USP, Univ. Federal de Campina Grande, YangZhou University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Shanghai Astronomical Observatory (China). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
