Antonio Rodolfo dos Santos

I have been Head of Materials Engineering at VoltStorage GmbH in Munich, Germany since 2017. After graduating from the Physics Institute at the University of São Paulo in São Carlos in 2000, I went on to complete a Master's degree at the same institution in 2003. I then completed a PhD at the Institute of Energy and Nuclear Research (IPEN) at the same university in 2007. From 2008 to 2016, I conducted postdoctoral research at the Technical University of Clausthal and the Energy Research Centre of Lower Saxony in Germany. I have experience in applied physics, physical chemistry, electrochemistry, materials engineering, chemical engineering, chemical production engineering and electrochemical production engineering. My main areas of expertise are gaseous diffusion electrodes, rechargeable nickel-metal hydride batteries, rechargeable circulating electrolyte batteries (redox flow batteries), and fuel cells (hydrogen, methanol, and ethanol). In my work, I utilise various physical characterisation techniques, including XRD, XPS, SEM, TEM and AFM, as well as electrochemical techniques such as cycle voltammetry, chronoamperometry, potentiometry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
