PhD in Sciences with a specialty in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of São Paulo in Ribeirão Preto (2010). He holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (2003) and a Master's degree in Chemistry (2006), both degrees obtained from the Chemistry Institute of Araraquara, UNESP. He completed a Sandwich Doctorate at the University of Aveiro, Portugal. He also completed an internship at the Telecommunications Institute of Aveiro, Portugal. He has a postdoctoral degree in Chemistry from the Chemistry Department of USP in Ribeirão Preto. He was a Professor of Inorganic Chemistry in the Department of Natural Sciences of the Federal University of São João del-Rei. He is currently Associate Professor II in Inorganic Chemistry at the Chemistry Institute of the Federal University of Uberlândia and Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Chemistry at the Chemistry Institute of the Federal University of Uberlândia - CAPES Score 6. He was Vice Coordinator between 2015 and 2017 and Coordinator between 2017 and 2018 of the Postgraduate Program in Physics and Chemistry of Materials (FQMat). He was a permanent professor of the Postgraduate Program in Physics and Chemistry of Materials (FQMat) between 2012 and 2020 and is a Permanent Professor of the Postgraduate Program in Chemistry at the Institute of Chemistry of the Federal University of Uberlândia, where he advises and advised Master's and Doctoral students and is a Post-Doc supervisor. He is the coordinator of projects funded by FAPEMIG and CNPQ, of the Laboratory of Photoluminescent Materials and of the Group for the Development of Inorganic Materials with Rare Earths (DeMITeR). Reviewer of several national and international journals. He was a full member of the Minas Gerais Chemistry Network (RQ-MG) and was part of the Chamber of Exact Sciences and Materials of FAPEMIG between 2020 and 2022. He was the local coordinator of the Minas Gerais Chemistry Network of UFSJ in São João del-Rei-MG, and is currently part of the Minas Gerais Network of Nanotechnology Applied to Energy Conversion and Photovoltaic Efficiency. He was interim head of the Department in 2012 (for 15 days). He has acted as an external evaluator of the CNPQ in several institutions in the country as well as an ad-hoc reviewer for institutions in other countries, such as the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas - CONICET - Chile) and the National Research Fundation (NRF - South Africa). He is Editor of the Journal of Fluorescence - Springer Nature. He has experience in Chemistry, with emphasis on Materials Chemistry, working in Inorganic Chemistry mainly on the following topics: Inorganic materials containing rare earth ions, Crystal structure, Symmetry, Photoluminescence spectroscopy, Absorption spectroscopy in the infrared region, Raman spectroscopy, Upconversion, downconversion, downshifting, biological labeling, thin films, glass-ceramics, nanocomposites, nanoparticles, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, sol-gel, solid-state synthesis. Materials for applications in solar cells, biological markers, for light-emitting devices, among others. He has 95 papers published in international journals of impeccable editorial qualification, has more than 1327 Scopus citations, 1,183 citations and h-factor = 20 (Web of Science), h-factor = 24 (Scopus) and 1722 citations and h-factor = 29 (Google Scholar). He is the leader of the Research Group "Development of Inorganic Materials with Rare Earths (DeMITeR) of the Chemistry Institute of the Federal University of Uberlândia. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
