Graduated in Geography (Bachelors degree, 2001) and holds a Masters degree in Ocean Engineering (2004) from the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG). She earned a Ph.D. in Meteorology from the University of São Paulo (USP) in 2008. She completed two postdoctoral fellowships in Meteorology at USP, one of which included a research exchange at the University of Vigo (Spain). She was a junior associate of the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Italy from 2013 to 2016 and has been a regular associate since 2018.She is a faculty member at the Institute of Natural Resources (IRN) of the Federal University of Itajubá (UNIFEI), a supervisor in the graduate program in Environment and Water Resources at UNIFEI, coordinator of the Research and Extension Group on Socio-environmental Policies (GPEPSA-UNIFEI-CNPq), and a researcher at IRN, the Climate Studies Group (GrEC) at USP's Institute of Astronomy, Geophysics, and Atmospheric Sciences, and the Climate Change Research Support Center (INCLINE) at USP.She collaborates on various research and extension projects with national and international groups (e.g., Spain, Italy, Sweden, and Pakistan). She has extensive experience coordinating projects funded by major national funding agencies, as well as research and technological extension projects supported by the energy sector.She served as the coordinator of the Atmospheric Sciences program at UNIFEI from 2015 to 2017, deputy coordinator from 2018 to March 2020, and again from 2022 to March 2024. In April 2024, she resumed the role of program coordinator. She was a member of UNIFEI's Research Committee during the 20222023 term and served on the Advisory Chamber for Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences, and Technologies (CRA) of the Minas Gerais Research Foundation (FAPEMIG) from 2016 to 2018. She has participated in CAPES committees, including the CAPES Thesis Award and the quadrennial evaluation of graduate programs. Between 2017 and March 2024, she was an assistant editor of the Revista Brasileira de Meteorologia and, since 2021, has served as an assistant editor for Earth Systems and Environment (ESEV) and, since 2022, for Atmósfera. In September 2020, she began working as a regional consultant for the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP). In October 2021, she joined the CLIVAR/WCRP Americas Monsoon Panel, and in January 2025, the CLIVAR/WCRP Climate Dynamics Panel. In February 2023, she became a member of the Working Group on Tropical Meteorology Research of the World Meteorological Organization's WWRP. Still in 2023, she became a member of Red Iberoamericana de Investigación en Riesgos Meteorológicos de Alto Impacto Socioeconómico, Clima y Cambio Climático.
