Agronomist graduated from the Federal University of Lavras, with a Masters, Ph.D., and Postdoctoral degree in Animal Science and Pastures from the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture University of São Paulo. He was a Researcher at Embrapa Agrossilvipastoril (20102021) and an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Program in Animal Science at the Federal University of Mato Grosso (20122024). Currently, he is an Associate Professor and Director of the Beef and Forage Center at the University of Tennessee (Knoxville, TN, USA). His research program focuses on improving pasture-based livestock production systems by enhancing land-use efficiency and agricultural profitability. This applied research generates information that supports an active and innovative extension program aimed at the sustainability of pasture systems and addressing critical challenges faced by producers. He serves as a Technical and Associate Editor for international journals and is a member of the American Societies of Agronomy and Crop Science, besides of the Brazilian Society of Animal Science.
